Reveille Productions is a company that I always felt I owed so much to. They are behind the making of so many of my favorite shows including “The Office”, “The Tudors”, and the list goes on.
Why am I so upset with Reveille? It has been reported that they are going to help the woman behind New York Governer Elliot Spitzer drama a shot at reality tv! The way they are pitching it is “a cross between Pretty Woman and Cinderella.” Are they serious?
They go on further to say that the show will include Jersey native Ashley Dupre working with a therapist to deal with her past (being a home wrecking prostitute) and try to fall in love. This sounds more like “The Bachelorette” meets Denise Richards plus Pretty Woman plus Tila Tequila! Total garbage. The only attribute that is missing is that she starts singing and the audience will call in and vote for the song she will sing while banging some random guy who signed up to try to get his 15 minutes of fame and who will probably get an STD.
Did I expect Ashley would get a shot at reality tv? Yes. Could I have ever imagined that a company like Reveille would be behind it? No way!
If this woman really wants to get her life in order and start again all means do that. But why do it on tv?
In the meantime, Ashley will be getting some air time. Joe Francis of “Girls Gone WIld” fame whom she tried to sue but later dropped the case, is releasing a Dupre sex tape.
