Rashida Jones scores new gig! November 19, 2008

“The Office” alumn Rashida Jones has found a new gig and she is not leaving the comforts of NBC just yet.  Rashida has joined the cast of the show that was supposed to be an Office spin-off but they don’t want to call it that!  Amy Poehler and Aziz Ansari have also been signed up to this project which has yet to be named!

According to Variety, Rashida is set to play Ann Logan, a nurse whose boyfriend has a strange injury. It’s that injury that leads Jones’ character into the world.  She will be re-teaming with with “The Office” executive producers Greg Daniels and Mike Schur.

Rashida attended the GQ Men of the Year party in Los Angeles last night.

Two of my favorite actresses, Kristen Bell from “Heroes” and Rashida Jones from “The Office” held a Voting Kick off Party on Friday at Missouri State University.

Kristen claims to have never been into politics until she heard Obama speak during his primary campaign.

“It sort of really inspired me to get off my butt and do something. I’m not saying I know everything about every policy in the world … but I’m a good judge of character.”

“It’s not about feeding you a bunch of crap,” she said of Obama’s campaign.

Rashida Jones encouraged the students to find unregistered friends to sign up to vote in Missouri before the October 8th deadline.

“There’s no way around it, you guys are going to be the reason Obama wins Missouri,” Jones said. “It’s your responsibility, it’s your country and it’s time to take it back.”

The lovely Rashida Jones from “The Office” went to see “Tropic Thunder” at the premiere last night.  There are rumors that someone who we thought was gone from “The Office” would be returning.  Could it be Karen?  Maybe she will take over Ryan’s position?
