My Best Friends Girl premieres! September 16, 2008

New romantic comedy, “My Best Friends Girl” starring Kate Hudson, Jason Biggs, and Dane Cook premiered last night in Hollywood. Hudson, who is known for her role in romantic comedies has kicked it up a notch with “My Best Friends Girl”, this is her first “R” rated film.

She says, “It’s a first for me because I’ve never been in an R-rated movie.”

“You get to curse a lot more and you get to have a lot more freedom and it feels actually closer to what you really are. Censorship is weird sometimes, it’s definitely confining so this was a lot more freedom.”

Comedian Dane Cook thinks this new flick has all the right things to make this flick a classic! He says, “You want to see two people that have chemistry and it’s always good when there are hurdles that they have to get over. We took a traditional rom-com and flipped it.”

“My Best Friends Girl” opens up in theaters on this Friday.

Keira Knightley premiers The Duchess! September 3, 2008

The queen of “period pieces” Keira Knightley is premiering her latest film “The Dutchess” in London’s Leicester Square this evening. She walked the red carpet with her boyfriend Rupert Friend.

In this film she plays Georgiana Spencer, an 18th Century noblewoman who embarks on a loveless marriage.   In real life, Princess Diana was the descendant of Knightley character.  Her husband, the fifth Duke of Devonshire had several affairs, including one with his wife’s best friend, and a love triangle developed.

“I think that Georgiana, Duchess of Devonshire in herself was an interesting enough character to warrant a film entirely about her and not because there are any similarities with another person.”

The film is receiving good reviews and Keira is happy with the role she played.  She says, “I think she was an incredible woman and the fact that the film’s getting good reviews is obviously really exciting.”

Asked whether she had had reservations about signing up for another period drama, Knightley said: “No, not really.”

“I think you’ve just got to go with the script and whether the character’s interesting,” she told BBC entertainment correspondent Lizo Mzimba.

The House Bunny premieres in Cali! August 21, 2008

The ladies did a lot better in the wardrobe department for this event.  I wasn’t too fond of Katharine McPhee’s outfit choice for the New York premiere.  The one that surprized me the most is Rumer Willis, she looks really good!  Plus that guy (Micah Alberti) she has on her arm is pretty hot!

Anna Faris is the House Bunny August 19, 2008

Anna Faris premiered her latest film entitled, “The House Bunny” last night in New York City.  She plays Shelley Darlingson, a former Playboy bunny who is forced to leave the mansion.  With no where to go, she gets a job working with the sorority girls from Zeta Alpha Zeta.

The lovely Rashida Jones from “The Office” went to see “Tropic Thunder” at the premiere last night.  There are rumors that someone who we thought was gone from “The Office” would be returning.  Could it be Karen?  Maybe she will take over Ryan’s position?

Vicky Cristina Barcelona premieres! August 5, 2008

Woody Allen’s latest movie entitled, “Vicky Cristina Barcelona” premiered last night in Los Angeles. The movies beautiful stars, Penelope Cruz and Scarlett Johansson, Rebecca Hall and Javier Bardem were in attendance.

Scarlett wore a “surprisingly comfortable” orange chiffon gown by Monique Lhullier. “I liked the color and it’s midsummer and I thought we needed a little Hollywood glamour.” The color looks gorgeous on her. Didn’t like her necklace though, too much going on really. Where was her fiance Ryan Reynolds? I haven’t seen pix of them together in the longest.

When Scarjo was asked about her wedding plans she protested, “I just got engaged!” “Give me a little time!”

Penelope Cruz and her honey Javier Bardem star in this movie together but opted to walk the red carpet separately. The most famous scene for the movie is when Penelope and Scarjo share a kiss but don’t ask Penelope about it!

“She and I have been asked that question a thousand times, and we are sorry that we don’t have any funny stories to tell you about it,” she told disappointed reporters. ::YAWN::

Alicia Silverstone goes for some Pineapple August 1, 2008

Last night, Pineapple Express premiered in Westwood and I spotted a face we don’t get to see much of, Alicia Silverstone. She stepped out with her hubby of 3 years Christopher Jarecki.

But get ready to see more of Silverstone who is making a return to the small screen for a new ABC show entitled, “Bad Mother’s Handbook”. She will be playing a 32-year old mom with a 16 year old daughter who also has to care for her 48 year old mother.

Kristin Chenoweth is a Space Chimp July 12, 2008

Tony award winner Kristin Chenoweth is lending her voice to new 20th Century Fox animated movie entitled, Space Chimp. She looked stunning in this yellow and black dress at the opening tonight in Los Angeles. I haven’t seen her since she was in Bewitched, she looks gorgeous!
