Emma Watson was a “Today Show” elf collecting toys from the audience for their children toy drive. She was on to promote her latest movie, “The Tale of Despereaux.”
Emma Watson premieres The Tale of Despereaux December 7, 2008
Emma Watson premiered her latest movie, “The Tale of Despereaux” in Los Angeles today. Emma recently chatted with MTV about her latest role as Princess Pea, Harry Potter, and more!
Do you see a lot of differences between Hermione and Princess Pea?
Watson: Hermione is a real tomboy. Princess Pea is very graceful, and she’s more subtle. She’s much more girly. I just felt really sorry for her. She’s very alone.
Have you seen “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” yet?
Watson: No! I’m dying over here. I literally can’t wait any longer. I think I’ll get to see it in January.
What’s next for you?
Watson: I’m attached to a film called “Napoleon and Betsy,” which will hopefully get shot in 2010. I’ve got the colossal final book ["Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows"] to finish off, and I’m going to university in September. I’m looking at scripts and auditioning. I’m very excited to do roles beyond “Potter.” It’s a very exciting time for me.
Where are you going to school?
Watson: I may stay in the U.K., but I’m also looking at universities in the States, on the East Coast probably. I’ve applied already to some schools over there.
What kind of roles are you looking for after “Harry Potter” is done?
Watson: I want when people look back on my career for them to not be able to put me in a box and say, “She always played this kind of role.” I want to do everything. I would love to be in a musical. I want to sing. I want to do a crazy Baz Luhrmann “Moulin Rouge!” sort of thing. I’d love to do a period piece. I’d love to do a French film. There are so many options out there!
What about theater? Would you ever take it all off onstage as Daniel Radcliffe’s been doing in “Equus”?
Watson: I think Dan is incredibly brave. I would be completely terrified!
You can see “The Tale of Despereaux” in theaters on December 19th.
Emma Watson on Blue Peter December 4, 2008
Emma Watson is currently on the road promoting her latest movie entitled, “The Tale of Despereux.” In this flick she plays the role of Princess Pea.
Recently she visited the BBC kids show, “Blue Peter.” She shares a story about a mouse she found in her kitchen! Eeek! That is my biggest fear. Don’t worry folks, she didn’t kill it she put it out in her garden.
Emma Watson heads for the ice! November 19, 2008
The beautiful Emma Watson helped to open up the Somerset House ice rink in London last night. I was surprised she jumped on the ice in that cute outfit! I hear she out-skated most of the folks who tried their luck on the ice. I would have fallen flat on my butt!
Emma also helped to light up the Tiffany Christmas tree while she enjoyed being just as decorated in Tiffany jewels for the evening. This includes a $93,000 platinum diamond Victoria Bracelet and 36,000 platinum diamond earrings. Lucky chick!
High five to her make-up artist, I’m loving the smokey eye make-up!
Harry Potter & The Half Blood Prince Trailer! November 14, 2008
Warner Brothers has released this new trailer for “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince.” This one is even better than the last one!
Emma Watson hearts NY October 13, 2008
It’s not secret that Emma Watson is thinking of coming to America to finish her education. She was spotted yesterday with a replacement “Harry Potter” on the streets of New York City.
I wonder if she will meet up with Daniel Radcliffe while in town? He is currently on Broadway showing his “magic wand” in Equus.
GAWD…….I’m so immature!
Emma Watson has Flare! October 11, 2008
Emma Watson is Flare Magazine’s November 2008 covergirl! The “Harry Potter” star chats about fashion, movies, and about being famous.
Would she recommend anyone go into show business?
“I would never tell anyone what to do. All I know is that it’s hard, really hard [being famous]. Once you’ve invited the media into your life, you have to live with it. Focusing on school helped me get through it.”
Emma states that she has found comfort in her co-stars Daniel Radcliffe and Rupert Grint.
“They’re very protective.”
Although Emma still has more Potter movies to make she does realize that things are starting to change for her.
“I am in a transitional period in a lot of different ways. I am changing and making lots of decisions about my future. It’s a very exciting and slightly scary time.”
Watch for the gorgeous girl in “Napolean and Betsy” where she plays Betsy, the object of the French Emperor’s affection.
Emma Watson hearts fashion! October 2, 2008
Harry Potter star Emma Watson has been seen all over Paris for Fashion Week! Emma was spotted at the Sonya Rykiel fashion show last night.
Emma recently bought a $2 million ski chalet in the fashionable French resort of Meribel. Though don’t think that will keep her from leaving for the U.S. She hopes to come here to study.
Emma’ upcoming films include The Tale of Despereaux (2008), in which she is the voice of Princess Pea; and Napoleon and Betsy (2009), in which she plays Betsy Balcombe, a young English girl with whom fallen French Emperor Napoleon falls in love while in exile on the island of St. Helena.
UPDATE: I am adding some pix of Emma today at the Giambattista Valli fashion show
