Rachel Bilson comes to Miami! September 28, 2008

Aventura Mall has been busy with stars for the second week in a row!  Last week they hosted Eva Mendes for the premiere of her fashion bedding line.  Today, Macy’s hosted the launch of Rachel Bilson’s new junior’s sportswear line for DKNY named, Edie Rose.  She named her new line  after her grandmother

This is something that I have been interested in doing for such a long time. I was just waiting for the perfect opportunity for it to be done right,” Rachel says of her new business venture with fashion maven Donna Karen.

“This line is my main focus right now. i can’t draw at all, so I won’t be doing any sketches, but I am learning to sew. I think it’s important to know more about the whole process of making clothes.”

When I saw the pictures of Bilson I had to laugh, I just saw a picture of me wearing an outfit very similar to this in the early 90′s. I guess all fashion has a way of coming back!

Fashion icon Rachel Bilson was featured in Page 6 magazine, September 6th edition.  She talks fashion, love, and her new flick, “New York, I love you.”

Bilson confesses that her love of fashion comes from her maternal grandmother Edith who passed away a few years ago.  Naturally when DKNY gave her a sporting clothes line which she named “Edith Rose” after her beloved grandmother.

Speaking of Edie, Rachel says, “She would just be so proud and…ack”—she stops for a second to fan herself and dry her teary eyes, “To have her name live on in a way,” she says, “it just makes it so much more special.”

She also chats about her beau of a year and a half, Hayden Christensen.

She says, “I’m happy and that’s all that matters,” she says. “I have someone really great. Someone who can make me laugh—that’s always what comes first. It’s the best to be able to really, like, truly laugh with someone like they’re your best friend, you know?”

She co-stars with Hayden again in the upcoming “New York, I love you.”
