Khloe Kardashian is against fur, and as most of you know so am I. So I am proud to say that after seeing the new ad above of her in her birthday suit for PETA, she is my favorite Kardashian!

“Everyone in the family wears fur except me,”Khloe said today during the unveiling of her PETA campaign.

Khloe also confesses she is trying to convince her other family members to give up fur.  But who will be the toughest to convince?

“Kim wore fur last night,” Khloe said. “I told her you cannot wear fur. It’s embarrassing.”  But sister Kimmy supports Khloe and was present today for the unveiling. “This is a cause really close to her heart,” Kim said. “She’s done an amazing job.”

Congrats Khloe for standing up for animals!

Jenna Fischer hearts kitties! September 15, 2008

“The Office” star Jenna Fischer hosted Kitten Rescues 1st Annual “Fur Ball.” Jenna was a long time volunteer and foster parent for LA’s non-profit Kitten Rescue since her pre-celebrity days.

“When you’re an animal lover you always have something in common with other animal lovers,” says Fischer. “I can’t wait to hear all the crazy rescue stories.”

Rachael Ray’s empire is going to grow even bigger! The famous cook is starting a charity-driven line of dog foods based on recipes she has created for her pit bull, Isaboo. (shown in picture)

“It seemed like not a lot of extra time to donate to something that could potentially raise millions of dollars for championing these little creatures that can’t speak for themselves,” Ray said. A line for cats also is planned.

All of her proceeds from sales of Rachael Ray Nutrish pet foods will go to Rachael’s Rescue, which she founded to help at-risk animals.

Bless her!  I have a soft spot in my heart for all animals and I am so happy to see a celebrity donate all the proceeds to help them!

Give peas a chance! July 15, 2008

Corey & Susie Feldman want you to give peas a chance! The couple who are active vegetarians want to spread the word. I refuse to watch their cornball tv show but give cred to them for this campaign.  I wish I didn’t hate pea’s so much!

Interview between Corey Feldman & PETA:

So how did you first get involved with PETA?

Corey: I’ve been a vegetarian for over 20 years now; I’ve been doing animal rights activist type stuff for that length of time. But the first project I did with PETA was about 6 years ago when I was doing The Surreal Life when I married Susie and did the Meet Your Meat Campaign.

What was it like working on that project?

Corey: It was cool—for me it’s really hard because as a major animal lover it’s hard for me to actually sit through that stuff. I believe those videos are made for people who don’t get it at all and need a wake up call. And if you’re already there, it’s kind of disturbing and kind of superfluous. I couldn’t actually watch the video—I had to basically narrate it with my eyes closed.

So what would you say to someone who thinks it’s just too hard to be vegetarian?

Corey: Well it’s a list of cop outs for everybody. Everyone’s number one argument, especially people who are hardcore carnivores; their number one reason is always “Well if you go back to the Bible, the Bible said that animals were put on this Earth to eat and that’s what they’re there for.” And I’m like, “Look guys, the Bible was written 2,000 years ago. We didn’t have science, we didn’t have technology, we didn’t have education, we didn’t have supplements; we didn’t have all these things. You were either eating raw corn stalk or cook an animal, so I get it. But we’ve evolved and the world, the Earth, the human race, it’s an evolutionary process and we must evolve as human beings. But I guess the big answer is there are so many options with meat substitutes where you can live a happy and healthy life and still get the taste requirements met.

Hey guys this is important! July 10, 2008

I love to blog because I get to reach a wide audience. I have seen my map of readers and you guys are so diverse and really so awesome. I try to keep my blog clean of adverts (you may get some from wordpress but I don’t make any money from it) but every now again I will see a story that needs some attention.

Our local Humane Society in Miami is having a major crisis.
Their air conditioner broke down and they need to raise $85,000 to replace it. The animals are suffering! They are having to resort to cool down the kitties by using ice cubes!

Those of you that can, please make a donation to the Greater Miami Humane Society. I have adopted from them before and they really have some great people there who care about the animals.

I know I have the best readers in the world. Thanks guys!

A plea to all animal lovers April 24, 2008

Sorry to interrupt the fun for a little bit but I wanted to discuss a local story that has captured my heart.

Our local NBC affiliate NBC 6 Miami ran a story today about this poor kitty who was born with six legs. The reason he was born this way actually happens in humans too. The kitty was meant to be born with a twin but they were born connected.

This breaks my heart. He is so cute and deserves a shot at life. I know times are tough but I also believe their are a lot of people out there who can give even $5 to this worthy cause.

The kitten is named Hex and a foundation has been made to raise money for his operation.

If you’d like to make a donation to the Hex Foundation, please send a check or money order to:

Hex Foundation, 4281 S.W. 139th Avenue. Miramar, FL 33027 or call 954-443-1099.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart for reading this message.
