Kate looks gorgeous! Check her out at the premiere of her latest flick, “The Reader” last night! She looks great as a blond.
There was talk that “The Reader” would be a shoe-in for Oscar gold but critics who have watched the film are now saying that the film is a long shot for even a nomination. I usually don’t go by critics though, I like to judge for myself. And this film is on my “must watch” list.
“The Reader” hits theaters January 9th, 2009.
The beautiful Christina Applegate has had a turbulent year. The “Samantha Who” star was diagnosed with breast cancer and underwent a double mastectomy.
She is currently featured in the December 2008 issue of L.A. Confidential Magazine. She opens up about many aspects of her life, most importantly her battle with Cancer.
LAC: You’ve been so brave and open about dealing with breast cancer, and already you’ve helped so many people. But has it been difficult for you? Have you wished you had more privacy with it?
CA: Well, there are two sides to it. One side is that this came into my life for whatever reason, but I can use it as an opportunity to help people. That’s the blessing in it and that’s the best part. It gave me a lot of fire. But it’s hard to talk about it in front of the world. I am a very, very, very private person, and I don’t talk about what hurts me, what pains me. I don’t talk about the tragedies in my life. I find that if you’re in the public eye you have to preserve yourself or you’ll lose all sense of yourself. But if I didn’t say, “Hey, this sucks and this hurts,” I’m not allowing other women to just relax into it. We sometimes feel like we have to be these warriors, and as the patients we end up being the caretakers for the people around us a lot of the time. One of the survivors I met through all this said, “If you can’t admit that this sucks, I can’t even talk to you, because the truth of the matter is: Some of this sucks.” But it’s also something we can get over, take control of, and move on from.

Mark Ruffalo and his family have received horrible news this week. Mark’s younger brother Scott was shot in the head in his Beverly Hills apartment on Monday.
“Our detectives will not say if it was a shooting,” Beverly Hills Police Department spokesman Tony Lee told E! News. “All we can say is that we are investigating some suspicious circumstance that [occurred] early Monday morning.”
A rep for Mark Ruffalo has no comment at this time, citing that the case is an ongoing police investigation.
Our thoughts and prayers are with the Ruffalo family.
The first time I saw Robert Pattinson he was playing Cedric Diggory, today he is playing Edward Cullen, but who will he be next year? Salvador Dali.
In this new indie film entitled, “Little Ashes,’ Robert will play the lead role as Salvador Dali. It’s so funny to see Pattinson play the quirky role of Dali after playing the role of sexy vampire in Twilight. No U.S. date has been set but our friends across the pond can check it out in 2009.
I can’t say enough about John Leguizamo, he is one of the funniest actors out there. He visited with Regis & Kelly to promote his new movie, “Nothing Like the Holidays.”
He also chats about his early years growing up, his children, a Hispanic Christmas, and being married to a hot white woman (Debra Messing) in his new movie.
Alan Rickman and his gorgeous green eyes premiered his new movie entitled, “Nobel Son” in Los Angeles last night. In this new flick Rickman plays Eli Michaelson, who wins the Nobel Peace Prize for Chemistry as his son Barkley (Bryan Greenberg) find his life is in a major rut.
On the Eve of the awards ceremony Barkley is kidnapped and the kidnappers want the $2,000,000 in Nobel prize money. Eli refuses and so the movie takes off!
Nobel Son hits theaters this Friday.
