Russell Brand to host MTV Awards!

The British actor and comedian will host this year’s Video Music Awards, set to air live from Paramount Pictures Studios in Los Angeles on Sept. 7, MTV told The Associated Press on Thursday.
Brand recently co-starred in the Judd Apatow-produced comedy “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and the Reese Witherspoon-produced fairy tale “Penelope.” He is currently filming the Adam Sandler comedy”Bedtime Stories,” slated for release later this year.
“I’ve just been invited to do it,” Brand said in a telephone interview from London. “It’ll be good to preside over what is sure to be only vaguely coordinated televised insanity.”
Anna Kournikova plays a little tennis!
After 5 years of retirement, Anna Kournikova is back on the tennis court. Three weeks before the start of the Olympics in Beijing, her picture adorns the cover of SI China even though she has nothing to do with the games.
Anna participated in the St. Louis Aces play against the Washington Kastles in the World Team Tennis games yesterday in Washington D.C. She met with rival Justin Gimelstob criticized Anna during “The Junkies” radio show on WJFK (FM-106.7) and called her a bitch! He further went on to talk about other women players describing Czech star Nicole Vaidisova as “a well developed young lady”, and calling French pin-ups Tatiana Golovin and Alize Cornet “sexpots”.
Anna took the high road during their meeting yesterday and said to curious press, “I really don’t want to discuss the matter,” Kournikova said. “I don’t want to give it any more attention or meaning that it already has received. I’m just treating this like any other match.”

Anne Hathaway is having a bittersweet year. Her latest movie, Get Smart has done quite well bringing in almost $177 million worldwide. But she also experienced a big break-up with her longtime boyfriend Raffaello Follieri who is currently in jail for suspicion of fraud and money laundering.
The FBI raided Follieri’s $37,500-a-month Trump Tower apartment and seized anything they though would help them in their prosecution. They took personal photographs of the couple, pictures of Raffaello posing with the Pope, The Clintons, and John and Cindy McCain and Anne’s personal journals.
There has been a lot of gossip saying that maybe Anne was the one who turned him in. If I was turning in a loser boyfriend I would make sure to take away anything that belonged to me first! Especially anything that was of any kind of value to me. I think she is getting heat for something she didn’t do.
