Christian Bale has been arrested by detectives investigating claims that he assaulted his mother and sister, police sources said today.

Bale, 34, faces questioning over the claim — made by his own mother and sister.
But he was able to attend the first European screening of new Batman blockbuster The Dark Knight in London’s West End.
He is alleged to have lashed out on Sunday night at Park Lane’s Dorchester Hotel — where he has a suite.
His mother Jenny, 61, and sister Sharon, 40, who live in Dorset, went to a police station in Hampshire yesterday to lodge the allegation. The matter was referred to the Met Police.
Detectives, well aware of last night’s glittering bash, took the decision not to approach Bale yesterday. But they are expected to make attempts to quiz the Wales-born actor today.
A source said: “It was a very difficult situation but it would have been wrong to have wrecked the premiere over a complaint which we don’t yet know is founded in truth.

I know! I am thinking the same thing! So far there has been no further comment but I think there is more to it than just “he hit his mom and sister”
I know they are celebrities and we don’t really know them but he is known for being a nice guy. We shall have to wait and see what happened.

Sources directly connected with the Christian Bale case tell TMZ there was physical contact between Christian and his mom, but it amounted to next to nothing.
We’re told Bale pushed his mom out of the way during the altercation. She was not hurt and did not fall down. There’s a division of opinion on whether the contact was a “push” or a “brush.”
It seems what was hurt most during the confrontation were feelings…nothing more than feelings.
He is innocent until proven guilty ! I think he has been
under a lot of stress with the movie premiers and such,
and a typical family argument may have gotten a little
out of hand. Since he is hot news right now, I’m sure
this entire thing has been blown way out of proportion !
I agree Daniel. I definitely think the situation has been blown out of proportion. All the news I’m hearing makes it sound like the mother and sister may be exaggerating the situation.
Let’s not jump to conclusion yet!
Maybe he’s despressed that people liked The Joker more than The Batman this time.
