SJP is coming back to TV! July 20, 2008

Sarah Jessica Parker has landed a new show for the Bravo channel!  It will be an hour long art competition reality show that is like Project Runway but for artists.  Aspiring artists compete to produce various styles of artwork (painting, sculpting, etc.), which is then judged by a panel of experts.

Congrats to SJP!

That’s quite the pose. If that was taken 20 years ago I think it could have seriously rivaled the famous (or infamous, depending on how you look at it) pose of Farrah Fawcett. I think, despite her age, Sarah can still pull this off, but if she were younger it picture wouldn’t have that ever so slight “ick” factor. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big fan, and I think she has stood the test of time both physically and professionally but this picture may be slightly over the top. Bravo for your flexibility and great shape Sarah!
I must say that the concept for this “reality show” is kind of a thinly veiled attempt for the program to be called the SJP hour. I think this show’s concept is beneath her abilities.

It’s (the photograph) is just a bit,….wellllll, ummmmm,…….. I can’t find the right word/phrase to accurately describe it…… all I can come up with right now is this pose reminds me of something that would be seen in the move “Weird Science” of the 1980’s. KWIM? Don’t get me wrong, I’m a big fan of Sarah and I think she has stood the test of time both physically and professionally but this picture may be slightly over the top. Bravo for your flexibility and great shape Sarah!
I must also comment on this new “reality t.v. series (is it just me or does it seem that no artist can get a job anymore without going through weeks/months of public ridicule to get a job these days?) However, back to the main comment…..the idea/theme of the show seems really kind of silly. I would love to see SJP back on television, but not in some ridiculous poorly thought out and thinly veiled attempt at a reality series that really seems like it is trying to be the SJP show. Hosting reality t.v. is beneath her. I’m sure she is much more creative than this show.

On a side note….whatever happened to writing story lines, plots, themes and character development for shows. I’m sooo sick of so called reality television. There is nothing real about any of these shows. Other than on t.v. when would anybody ever find themselves in such unbelievable situations as “reality t.v.” For example, in the real world 20 women don’t sit around and compete for the attention of one man for weeks at a time. Okay, I’m off my soapbox now…….

I just realized that the first comment was accidentally submitted before I was finished I thought my edited version would be the one to appear since my original text still remained….please ignore the first reply, it is redundant and incomplete.

    Thanks.
