Flashback to 1994, In Living Color had been cancelled and the Fox channel picked up this Latino sketch comedy television show called House of Buggin. I was in high school and me and my girlfriends would get together to watch what crazy shit John Leguizamo came up with that week.
I had nearly forgotten these episodes until I found them posted on Youtube. Wow they really do have everything!
You see so many familiar faces in this show, most of them started out their careers on this show like John Leguizamo and Luis Guzman. This clip is so funny. I’m very grateful that bugginvideos uploaded these. John actually plays a role much like the one on this skit in the movie, To Wong Foo, Thanks for everything Julie Newmar.
What is it with music that comes out today? Good to listen to in the car or when I’m running but it doesn’t hold much depth. Here is another example. While I’m on the Ray J tip, I wonder if Whitney is really on his?
Attention to my budget shoppers, here is a printable coupon for Saks outlet store called “Off the 5th” to get 30% good from today until Sunday, April 27th. This coupon is not going to work at the regular Saks Fifth Avenue but who cares, the outlet has awesome deals.
What has taken me so long to write about a band and show I totally love?
While they are enjoying celebrity in the U.S. they have been making waves in their native New Zealand for quite awhile. These guys are just so brilliant. Their show is currently on hiatus due to the writing strike but HBO has renewed their season. I heard that they are in New Zealand writing for the show and they also have a U.S. tour coming up. The tickets flew like hot cakes selling out in minutes.
Bret….Jemaine….why aren’t you coming to Florida? Seriously, Florida is not a good venue for concerts. Floridians just don’t respond like they do in New York or in L.A.
Lyrically these guys are hilarious, musically they are flippin’ awesome. Here is one of the funniest songs clipped from their show:
I listened to their new album and of course I love it. Although I still prefer it with the background noise going on during the show because its hilarious. Their music has a blend of comedy, hip hop, rap, pop, folk, dance, I don’t know how they do it.
These guys have given me a big reason to look forward to the 2009 TV schedule.
I haven’t decided yet if I am going to go see this movie. I am still so sad about Heath Ledger but he looks like he played one of his best roles here as The Joker. Movie will be released on July 18, 2008 and is one of the most highly anticipated movies of the summer.
Dave Matthews is the shit. I can’t put it any other way. Here is a picture of him from the Seeds of Compassion Conference in Seattle shaking hands with His Holiness the Dalai Lama.

During the panel, Dave asked his Holiness how he felt music applied to compassion: “The message of love through music may be stronger in depth,” the Dalai Lama said.
Even Dave was surprised to realize he was nervous while talking to the Dalai Lama, he said, “Everyone was telling me to be myself — and myself was nervous.”
